Up for sale, a 1966 Mosrite Ventures Model bass in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. A genuine vintage USA-made example, this bass was crafted in Bakersfield, CA.
Tonewoods include a basswood body, maple neck, and bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and this bass has a 30 1/2″ scale length. Strung with 45-100 Daddario Chromes flatwound strings, the bass delivers plenty of thick low end thump, and smooth, punchy growl, particularly round-sounding with the Tone knob rolled back to taste. This Mosrite weighs 9lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mikes Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.

The body sports a distinctive German carve, and the original Sunburst nitro lacquer gloss finish exhibits extensive finish checking. A soulfully played example, cosmetic wear includes buckle rash on the back and some finish scratches and small chips, particularly concentrated along the lower bout perimeter. The neck profile retains its smooth matching gloss, with a couple shallow marks along the profile length. A previous owner’s ID number has also been added to the back of the headstock and kidney-shaped neck plate.
A circa 1980s Mosrite-branded black tolex hardshell case is included.
